My journey into dog training began when an animal agency asked to use my Black Labrador, Mavros, in a Ruth Rendell drama. On set, I trained Mavros to perform a gundog retrieve, which led to me joining the agency as a handler and trainer for animals in TV and film. Over the years, I worked on major productions like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Andrex adverts, Whiskas commercials, and other TV dramas, gaining a deep understanding of animal behavior and training dogs to be responsive and adaptable in high-pressure environments.

As a dog trainer with over 30 years of experience, I’ve completed the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) course, the IMDT Perfect Puppy Course, accredited canine first aid, and the CHWI Hoopers Dog Agility Instructor course. These certifications allow me to bring expert, science-based techniques to every session.

I launched Happy Hounds Haslemere to share my passion for dog training and help owners build strong, positive relationships with their dogs. My training focuses on creating the foundation for lifelong good behavior, addressing challenges like recall, lead walking, and general obedience. Whether you're raising a confident puppy or refining an adult dog’s skills, I work with you to overcome behavioral issues and teach essential skills.

Using fun, kind, positive reinforcement techniques, I help owners to create a bond of trust and responsiveness with their dogs. We will work on improving lead-pulling, building polite interactions, and encouraging focus and good manners at home and in public.
