Jo's journey into the dog training world began when her Labrador, Mavros, was approached by an animal agency that supplied animals for film and television. Mavros starred in many Ruth Randell murder mysteries, and Jo learned a great deal from the experience. She joined the agency and became an animal handler for many years, working with all types of animals for films and television, from Andrex adverts to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

Jo has since completed the IMDT course (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers), the IMDT Perfect Puppy Course, accredited canine first aid, and the CHWI Dog Agility Instructor course. Jo launched Happy Hounds to pass on her experience to others and share her passion with fellow dog lovers, ensuring they too can enjoy life with a happy, content, and well-behaved dog!
